Pima County is inviting the entire community, especially those who live on Tucson’s north side, to a job and resource fair Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center, 1660 W. Ruthrauff Road.
The resource and job fair is being organized by the county’s Community & Workforce Development Department in conjunction with the office of District 3 Pima County Supervisor Sharon Bronson.
About a dozen local companies will be on hand to recruit potential employees. County agencies and nonprofit organizations also plan to attend to publicize their services and programs.
“Anyone, especially those living in and around the Flowing Wells neighborhood, should attend. It is important to know what services are available to people,” said Jennifer Eckstrom, a program coordinator with Community & Workforce Development who is organizing the event.
COVID-19 vaccines will be available to those who want them and attendees will also be able to gather information about rental and utility assistance; financial aid for preschools; eviction prevention; improving overall health; and job resources, among other offerings.
“Come and see what is out in your community and get information on valuable resources,” Eckstrom said. “If you are looking for a job, we will have employers who are ready to hire.”
Companies or agencies that will be recruiting at the event include, Small Miracles Education, Learning Care Group, Eagle Rock Excavating, Canyon Building and Design, Chick-fil-A, Precision Toyota, Hamstra Heating & Cooling, Amazon and the Pima County Assessor’s Office.
People who are looking for work are reminded to bring their resumes and to dress for success.
