Most children will need immunizations before starting the 2014-2015 school year.none

So rather than add one more thing to a growing back-to-school task list, wedged between finding the right backpack and setting up carpools, parents have the opportunity to just get them out of the way now! That way, families can avoid the back-to-school rush altogether!

The Pima County Health Department clinics provide immunizations Monday through Friday. With an appointment, you won’t have to wait, but walk-ins also are welcome and there is no charge for children!

“Serious, preventable illnesses can be avoided or at least greatly reduced if parents take action to vaccinate their children,” said Dr. Francisco García, Pima County’s public health director and chief medical officer. In fact, vaccines are the single most effective way to prevent the spread of disease.”
