The Manzanita Community Swimming Pool (MCSP) opened in 1997 and has been one of the most popular recreational pools in the Pima County system. This project was created to provide a critical repair and upgrade that will extend the usable life of the MCSP, and will be the first step in the 25 year maintenance program for this pool.
The project included all new tiles and a new coat of plaster throughout the entire pool facility. Some minor railings were added to meet current ADA requirements and the pool toy installation was repaired. The project timeline was set to complete the work before the pool opening date of May 24, 2014.
The pool was opened on time, to an extremely busy weekend, filling to capacity within the first hour.
