    “Strengthening Arizona’s Families"

The office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, in partnership with Pima County's Department of Community & Workforce Development, convenes, supports or directs multiple resource fairs, special events, committees and collaborations that are relevant to the activities of the faith-based community. The office strives to compassionately serve low-income individuals and families; those experiencing homelessness; and those returning from incarceration with food and needed resources, thereby growing love, hope and dignity in the community.

The faith-based program works across Pima County departments, neighborhoods and organizations. Community & Workforce Development, the Health Department, the Office of Emergency Management, Justice Services, youth summer programs, Las Artes, Pima Vocational High School and the Community Action Agency all have received assistance and relevant resources from the faith-based program.

A dentist provides free dental care for a child during the 2015 Hope Fest.
First and foremost, the CWD team listens to the needs and priorities of the faith-based community through existing and new channels.

Secondly, community leaders, subject-matter experts and other partners are convened to collectively gather resources and solve problems and issues facing the community.

Finally, solutions are carried out, compassion is served, dignity is restored and resources are leveraged to strengthen the faith and resilience of Pima County.
