This project provided key connections on The Loop, a 55 mile multi-use recreation path that circles the Tucson metro area. This section of pathway is immediately adjacent to Interstate 10, and shares the frontage road bridges over the Canyon Del Oro Wash and Rillito Wash to convey path users in a cost effective manner. This section of path connects the Santa Cruz River Park to the Rillito River Park; and continues further north to connect to the Marana River Park trail system as well as future connectivity along the Canyon Del Oro Wash and into Oro Valley.
A major celebration of the connection of two main river trails was held in October 2011, with significant public attendance.
