Youth Activities

kidsParent Child Storybook Fun Time

Mondays - Thursdays 8:30-10:30 am
Children ages 3-5 can enjoy a new and exciting adventure book with parents every morning. Every story will be followed with a hands on arts and craft project to go along with the day’s tale. Activities will also include science projects, treasure hunts, and songs. Come enjoy some parent and child fun time together! Parents must remain with children during the entire program.

Summer Fun Power Hours

Ages 7-9 years: Monday - Thursday 11 am-1 pm
Ages 10-12years: Monday - Thursday 1:30-3:30 pm
Catalina Community Center is kicking off the summer with some lively, summer-fun recreation activities for youths ages 7-12. Each 2 hour session will be packed with themed activities for participants to enjoy including sports, group games, arts and crafts, archery, science projects, and more. All participants must be registered in the program. Enrollment is limited. Drop off and pick up will take place at a designated table outside to minimize indoor traffic. Program is divided into two separate age groups. Please register for the age group that applies.

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation facilities are not licensed childcare facilities under section 36-882 of A.R.S. The school-age youth programs are “at will” drop in programs and youth enrolled in the programs may come and go of their own volition.

Ukulele Song Circle

Fridays 8-10 am
Bring your ukulele, your voice, and join in some friendly music sharing. Our socially distant song circle will meet every Friday morning to create some beautiful music together. Participation is limited, please call 825-9011 to register.

Table Tennis for Seniors

Fridays 10 am-12 pm
Did you know table tennis is one of the best activities to increase hand-eye coordination, mental acuity, reflexes, balance, and burn calories? Catalina Community Center offers friendly indoor table tennis Friday afternoons. Participants will be limited to 4 persons per round. Tournament play for those who would like to compete will also be offered. Reservations for play must be made in advance and scheduled by center staff. Please call 825-9011 to register.

Computer Lab

Mondays through Thursdays
8:30-10:30 am
The Catalina Community Center has opened a new computer lab with internet access for public use. Users will be able to utilize computers by reserving one hour time slots. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 825-9011.
