kidsYouth Activities

Lil Rec'ers Program

Tuesday and Thursday, 10:30-11:45 a.m.
This 4 week program is for children ages 3-5 years who are toilet trained and their parent/s. A variety of activities are offered at each site such as arts and crafts, story time, early learning skills, socialization, sports skills, active games, and much more. Parent must accompany the child and remain on premises during the entire program. Additional parent programming may be available at site. Session 1: Animal Safari
Tuesday, September 14th – Thursday, October 7th
Kids ages 3-5 years old, grab your sight-seeing binoculars as we head out on our great adventure through the wild Animal Kingdom. We will tour the world to observe some of the most awesome creatures in their beautiful natural habitats.

Session 2: Ready, Set, Go!
Tuesday, October 26th – Thursday, November 18th
Pre-schoolers ages 3-5 years old will be introduced to early learning skills like cutting, gluing, listening to stories, and singing to prepare them for their next stop at kindergarten. Kids will also learn the power of good manners like taking turns, being polite, and saying please and thank you.

Parent Child Storybook Fun Time

Tuesday and Thursday, 10:30-11:45 a.m.
November 23rd – December 16th
Children ages 3-5 can enjoy a new and exciting adventure book with parents every morning. Every story will be followed with a hands on arts and craft project to go along with the day’s tale. Activities will also include science projects, treasure hunts, and songs. Come enjoy some parent and child fun time together! Parents must remain with children during the entire program.

After-school Program

The after-school program is open to children in kindergarten through the fifth grade. The program’s hours will be from the time school is dismissed to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Activities include homework help, reading program, group games, sports, arts and crafts, board and table games, special events, and more. The program is free except for some special events. Registration begins Monday, July 26 at 6 a.m.

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation facilities are not licensed childcare facilities under section 36-882 of A.R.S. The school-age youth programs are “at will” drop in programs and youth enrolled in the programs may come and go of their own volition.

Games & Getaways

Mondays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Come join in a friendly game of cards, board games, and planned adventure trips throughout Pima County. Transportation for trips is provided.

Ukulele Song Circle

Fridays, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Bring your ukulele, your voice, and join in some friendly music sharing. Our socially distant song circle will meet every Friday morning to create some beautiful music together. Participation is limited, please call 520-825-9011 to register.

Table Tennis for Seniors

Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Did you know table tennis is one of the best activities to increase hand-eye coordination, mental acuity, reflexes, balance, and burn calories? Catalina Community Center offers friendly indoor table tennis Friday afternoons. Participants will be limited to 4 persons per round. Tournament play for those who would like to compete will also be offered. Reservations for play must be made in advance and scheduled by center staff. Please call 520-825-9011 to register.

Computer Lab

Monday - Friday, 10:30 a.m.-5:45 p.m.
The Catalina Community Center has opened a new computer lab with internet access for public use. Users will be able to utilize computers by reserving one hour time slots. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 520-825-9011.
