The Pima County Housing Commission recommended to the Board of Supervisors to approve a proposal to restore the Linda Avenue House, located at 17 North Linda Avenue, with remaining 2004 General Obligation Affordable Bonds. That approval by the BOS was made on May 3, 2016.  In 2016, Pima County performed a physical assessment study of the two buildings located at this address to evaluate the feasibility of renovating and adapting the facilities for use by Pima County.  Exterior renovations to the building were performed shortly thereafter.

As the years have gone by, the buildings created a potentially unsafe environment for the neighbors and community at large.  Staff of the Pima County Housing Center and the Housing Commission proposed that the Linda Avenue House and Coach House become part of the Pima County housing campus, making it a multi-purpose space for meetings and small neighborhood events and/or for lease space.

This project accomplished a complete renovation of the interior of both buildings as well as needed repairs to the exterior including installation of new windows.  Space created on the interior of the Main House include office / meeting rooms, kitchen and an accessible restroom.  The Coach House was renovated to accommodate a multi-purpose meeting room and related storage. Sidewalks were added to provide accessibility to the buildings and minor drainage improvements were performed.

The opportunity afforded our community by the innovative restoration of the Linda Avenue House and Coach House is unique.  Restoration of the Linda Avenue structures will return an underutilized property to the Pima County housing campus allowing for a safe and functional facility for neighborhood, cultural and tourism events.
