Pima County One-Stop works with companies to upgrade the skills of current workers in key industries and occupational areas.

The One-Stop gathers data on current and projected hiring and training needs using the Innovation Frontier Arizona Workforce Needs Survey. This data is used to inform ongoing workforce investment activities of Pima County One-Stop.   The results of a recent survey on the needs of the local Machining Community is summarized in the Pima County Machining Industry Interview Report .
    .
Customized training is available for certain occupations, especially high-wage jobs in high-tech fields. Training is tailored to the specific need of the employer, with the employer paying half of the cost.

The One-Stop Employer Services Team has identified Subject Matter Experts who concentrate on the training needs of the various industry sectors identified at both the state and regional level. Using focus groups made up of representatives from similar companies within industry sectors, we can together identify existing training programs or develop customized training programs. This approach will address not only the skills shortages present in today's workforce but the skills needed for the workforce of the future.

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a structured work-based program developed directly with the employer to teach the skills required for a particular occupation required by the company. This approach combines instruction with work experience in the target occupation or a related position. Eligible businesses can receive up to 50% in wage reimbursements for selected positions, based on certain criteria. Workforce Development Specialists will work with your company to develop the training agreement and to pre-screen and refer appropriate job training candidates while providing supportive services, follow-up monitoring, and assistance in retention of OJT employees.
