Pima County Code 17.04.110 establishes the Environmental Quality Advisory Council (EQAC), pursuant to A.R.S. §49-477. The purpose of this council is to advise and consult with the Board of Supervisors, Department of Environmental Quality staff, and the Department of Environmental Quality Director in administering environmental quality matters.
EQAC Members
The council consists of ten members who are knowledgeable in the field of environmental protection including air pollution and its control, water quality protection and solid waste/hazardous materials management, with members selected from various segments of industry, development, education, resource management and law. None of the members may hold a governmental position with any incorporated city or town in Pima County or the Pima County government itself while serving on the council. Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for three-year staggered terms. Members are nominated by the Board of Supervisors, various professional or community organizations or other governmental entities within Pima County and placed on lists of qualified candidates prior to appointment. A list of Members is maintained by Clerk of the Board.
